Taco Bell’s ‘Premium’ Nuggets Challenge McDonald’s

Taco Bell has recently taken a bold step into the fast-food chicken nugget market by introducing their “premium” Crispy Chicken Nuggets. This new offering is a clear challenge to McDonald’s, a long-standing leader in the chicken nugget space.

Taco Bell’s nuggets are made with all-white meat and feature a unique jalapeño buttermilk marination, setting them apart from the traditional nugget offerings found at other fast-food chains.

The nuggets come with two new dipping sauces: the Bell Sauce, which includes red chilies, garlic, onions, and tomatoes for a bit of a kick, and the Jalapeño Honey Mustard, which delivers a sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy taste.

Customers can purchase a 5-piece order with one dipping sauce for $3.99 to $4.99, or a 10-piece order with two sauces for $6 to $8.99, though prices may vary depending on the location.

Initially, Taco Bell is testing these Crispy Chicken Nuggets in 83 select locations in Minneapolis.

This move is part of Taco Bell’s broader strategy to cater to a wider audience, including those who might not typically choose tacos, and to disrupt a category where they see an opportunity for innovation.
